It took some digging, but we uncovered the Guinness Book of World Records for the Longest Wheelie in History. It was none other than the “Wheelie King” Yasuyuki Kudo for a wheelie lasting for 205.7 miles (331 kilometers).
Yasuyuki Kudo rode the motorcycle wheelie on May 5th, 1991 in Japan at the Japan Automobile Research Institute proving ground. He rode non-stop on the rear wheel of his Honda TLM220R motorcycle.
Honda’s TLM Series
The TLM series started Honda’s first 2-stroke trial bikes. The first 2-stroke bike was TLM50 and it went on sale in December 1983. It was presented as lightweight and slim for beginners.
In 1985, Honda released the TLM200R. This model was labeled as a bike suitable for serious trail competition and casual touring.
Honda released the upgraded TLM220R in 1988. This bike had hydraulic disc brakes for the front and was introduced with new colors. Now, over three decades later, the Honda TLM220R is still racing in touring trials.
Imagine if he was able to have Motomentum to get some High-Performance motorcycle gear and parts. He probably would have gone farther, just saying.
