POD Active is an innovative Australian product development company that specializes in joint protection for elite athletes and active humans. Their mission is to reduce the risk and severity of ligament injuries in sport without restricting performance or compromising comfort. Drawing on their experience and understanding of the shape and movement of the body, POD is working with leading universities, brands, athletes, coaches, trainers and medical professionals to create a new platform of joint protection products around natural human motion.

Founded in 2005 in the Victorian Surf Coast Town of Torquay, Australia, POD Active was the vision of polymer and composite materials specialist, Geoff Maloney. Maloney and his siblings had grown up within a motorcycle culture and found there was an apparent absence of ‘off the shelf’ knee braces, with competitive riders limited to medical treatment and rehabilitation knee braces, which were not designed for sport performance. The solution was found with the patented Human Motion® Hinge which was the key differentiator to provide progressive, multidirectional motion control.
